Inaugural UPLOADS webinar – Injury prevention in led outdoor activities: what do we know and where are we going?

To date, the Understanding and Preventing Led Outdoor Accidents Data System (UPLOADS) has been used to report and analyse over 20,000 Australian led outdoor activity incidents, including injury, illness, psychosocial, and near miss incidents. In this webinar we will reflect on the UPLOADS program, data, and the insights it has provided for injury prevention and safety management. This will include discussion of a set of recurring incident contributory factors which appear consistently across the dataset. In addition, we will provide an update on the newly funded program of research involving the development of a new risk assessment tool which will be integrated with UPLOADS to form the Systems Thinking Accident and Risk System (STARS) digital platform to support prospective risk assessment and incident reporting and learning. To close the presentation we will provide details on how providers can get involved to assist in designing and testing the new tool.
