UPLOADS National Incident Dataset: Head and Face Incidents

In this infographic we analyse head and face incidents reported to the national incident dataset from September 2018 until January 2026.

The three most common activities where face and head incidents occurred were camping / campsites (n = 243), free time / down time (n = 204), and bushwalking (n = 183). The top three contributory factors for head and face incidents were participant – decisions (n = 222), environment – terrain (n = 175), and resources – equipment/clothing (n = 133).
